The girl from Texas
with a giving heart
only 21 years young
wisdom that stretches
miles
and miles
far as the eye can see.
A soul absorbed in the arts
minus the temperament.
Written off by wannabe elitists
who try and force
“real poetry”
upon those who feel more
than their arrogant hearts ever could.
The graceful gallant cowgirl
who has tamed the mighty plains
blazing the trail
for young and old
to be inspired by.
No destination or arrival
no path to trek or motive
just here for now.
Words of blunt honesty
no throwing a Shakespeare or Poe
Wordsworth or Yeats on us.
It is her
just like rock n roll
she is here to stay.
OMGOMGOMG!
Big throat lump gulps.
She’s always goofy but trys to be
serious too
sometimes askin herself
“Is this you, or me?”
I kinda know her pretty well
She knows herself too
without pretense
like others, her nose runs and her feet smell.
She is well aware of talents and such
came here to learn what she lacks
to hopefully grow without attacks
and know loved contacts who touch
She battles her demons every day
wants no pity,
no party as such
just she has some stuff to say.
She has shown love and sharp wit too
respect for others
even offers hugs for who don’t care
and wants to stay until she is through.
